Edventure Teens Field Class # 1 was held on Zoom on June 24. A Field Class on Zoom??? What do you mean, teacher?

We all know a Field Class is supposed to be outdoors, but unfortunately due to the COVID-19 pandemic ours had to be held on Zoom. ‘That’s crazy talk!’, you might be thinking.

Well, the purpose of our Field Class is to connect all of our teenage students, so as to give them the opportunity to interact with students of different levels and get encouraged to communicate in English. 

We are all struggling, unable to go to school, to work or visit one another. We are being confronted with the true vulnerability of human life. Should we give up then? No, absolutely not! It’s time to gather our strength and energy to stay connected by any means necessary.

I must confess I experienced some anguish when trying to arrange the activities that were supposed to encourage participation in this paradoxical Zoom Field Class. In the end, it turned out to be a fantastic event with the involvement of 20 of our students. We could even have a gymkhana on Zoom, and the members of the winning team received a tasty prize! Actually everyone did.
